This morning we look at Exodus 20:14, you shall not commit adultery.

The devil baits his trap with adultery. God protects those whose life pleases Him (Ecc. 7:26)

Adultery is a sin that is committed aha your own body (Prov. 6:32).

Sins of our culture today:
1. It promotes immortality
2. It defends immortality
3. It rejects Biblical morality (Eph. 5:11-12, Heb. 13:4, Rev. 21:8)

God has the right to set the standard of morality. Acts 15:29, Eph. 5:3, 1 Cor. 5:9-11, Rom. 15:11-14

Adultery can be a physical and mental sin.

Why God says no to sexual immortality:
-Moral purity makes for better sex
-Moral purity protects from STDs
-Moral purity avoids disaster (Prov. 2:19, Prov. 6:32, Prov. 5)
-Moral purity enhances your walk with God (Eph. 5:5)

How to avoid immortality:
-be committed to Christ
-have a moral base/standards
-sometimes it’s best to run
-work to build a great relationship with your spouse
-consider the end result
-if we find ourselves too close, repent
