Today we continue in Exodus 20, looking at the topic of worshiping God, responding to God about what He’s done and who He is.
I worship when the Holy Spirit is helping me respond to truth. (John 4:23, Phil. 3:3)
I worship when I am occupied with God himself. (Heb. 12:28-39)
I worship when I obey Him. (Rom. 12:1)
I worship when I’m exalting and praising God and meaning it. (Ps. 99:5)
How shall we worship the one true God? Can we make something that will illustrate an aspect of God or remind us of Him and worship using that?
Characteristics of true worship:
-Does not use physical forms. (Deut. 4:15-16, 12:2-4, 2 Chron. 6:18, Heb. 11:1, 2 Cor. 5:7)
-Does not use mental images.
-is an intimate personal connection with a real person.
We should worship Him in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)
