2 Peter 1:3-11 describes how God will change our lives from day to day. Jesus was a carpenter/craftsman and the question remains, “Will we let God build our lives?”
God’s general design goals: Life, godliness
-Goodness (moral excellence/virtue/basic soundness of character)
-Knowlege (2 Peter 3:18)
-Self Control (live so the spiritual person controls your life)
-Perseverance/patience
-Godliness (right reverence and respect, 1 Tim 3:16)
-Brotherly kindness
We are encouraged to “make every effort” to do these things.
Benefits:
-I become like Christ
-I escape destruction (both now and in the future)
-I will produce eternal work
-I will be spiritually awake
-I’ll be secure in my salvation
Keys to growing and developing as a Christian:
-Get to know Christ
-Work hard at being godly
-Co-operate with the Holy Spirit
