Today we look at Exodus 20:8-11, the Sabbath day. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Sabbath means intermission, to cease, to rest, a system of resting… work, then renew. (Col. 2:16). God offers us rest, a weekly day of rest (Mark 2:27)

-Remember… it can be easy to forget
-Holy… it is unique
-Everyone… all are included
-Blessing… God designed it to be helpful to us

How shall we use the day?
-Physical rest
-Spiritual enrichment and service (Matt. 12:12, John 5:9, Mark 6:2, Acts 13:14, Acts 16:13)

God also gives us seasons of rest, holidays, celebration.

He also gives us salvation rest (Matt 11:38-40, Heb. 3:14-4:11)

God offers us a Kingdom/Eternal Rest (Is. 9:6, Is. 58:13-14)
