Today we look at the beatitude in Matt. 5:9, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called Sons of God.

God calls us to peace (Ps 39, Rom. 12:18-19, Rom 14:19)

How to be a peacemaker:
A. I should not be a troublemaker.
-Troublemakers have to have their own way. (1 Cor. 6:6)
-Troublemakers talk a lot. (2 Tim. 2:16, Prov. 6:16-19)
-Troublemakers live out of the sin nature.

B. I should be a peacemaker (Gen. 26:17)

How peacemakers live:
-Live humbly. I don’t have to have my own way.
-Live graciously. I will value others viewpoints and words.
-Live quietly. I will keep my negative opinions to myself.
-Live obediently. I will intentionally follow the Holy Spirit morning n each matter of life.
-Live ami
-Live peaceably, reaching out to those from whom they have been alienated.
-Live aggressively.

C. I should help put out the fires caused by troublemakers (1 Peter 3:8-11).

And Jesus is the GREATEST peacemaker next of all time. (2 Cor. 5:18-21)
